Vitasoy takes active role in School-Business Partnership Program through providing work attachment opportunities for secondary students
(Hong Kong - 28 August, 2006) As a responsible corporate citizen, Vitasoy International Holdings Ltd. ("Vitasoy") has been committed to giving back to society through a wide array of endeavors. Since October 2005, Vitasoy has been an active supporter of the School-Business Partnership Program organized by the Education and Manpower Bureau. As part of this year's program, Vitasoy offers work attachment opportunities for a group of S6 students in July and August, with an objective to expand their exposure in the business sector and better equip them to meet the challenges ahead.
The School-Business Partnership Program
is designed to foster better co-operation and closer
alliances between the business sector and schools for
S4-S7 students to enrich their knowledge in different
careers, establish right work attitudes, adapt to economic
and social changes and ultimately achieve whole-person
development.
The work attachment program of Vitasoy
saw the participation of seven S6 students from Ju Ching
Chu Secondary School (Tuen Mun), Matteo Ricci College,
Kowloon and Caritas Tuen Mun Marden Foundation Secondary
School. The program was divided into two 11-day phases,
which spanned from July 24 to August 4 and from August
7 to 18 respectively.
During the attachment period, the participants
were allocated to work in five internal departments
of Vitasoy, namely Corporate Services Department, Internal
Audit Department, Engineering Department, Public Relations
Department and Human Resources Department. They were
required to work on a half-day basis to perform administrative
and clerical duties, and maintain the filing system.
The participants were also invited to join
a sharing session on August 21 to talk about their experience
in the program.
"Growing hand-in-hand with Hong Kong,
Vitasoy prides itself in contributing to the local community
and supporting the development of the education sector,"
said Mr. Larry Eisentrager, Chief Executive, Hong Kong
Operation, Vitasoy International. "Through the
School-Business Partnership Program, we aim to provide
real-life work opportunities for the next generation
of potential business executives to understand daily
life in the Hong Kong business sector and adapt to the
pace of social development."
Wong Ka Yi, a participant from Caritas
Tuen Mun Marden Foundation Secondary School, said, "After
participating in the work attachment program, I have
opened my horizons in understanding the role of an employee
in the business world, as well as how to get along with
colleagues. The knowledge I have acquired is beyond
the teachings at schools and in textbooks. I really
treasure the experience gained through this program."
In addition to the work attachment program,
Vitasoy also organized school talks and plant visits
as part of the School-Business Partnership Program,
allowing secondary students to understand the operations
of Vitasoy under a holistic approach.

Seven S6 students attended the sharing session on August 21 to share their experience in the program.

Wong Ka Yi, a participant from Caritas Tuen Mun Marden Foundation Secondary School, expressed that she really treasures the experience gained through this program.
